The following documentation demonstrates how to insert a webcam recording within D2L. Instructors can insert a recording using D2L tools including assignments, quizzes, news items, and discussions. Students generally can insert webcam recordings only within a discussion topic or when submitting an assignment.
*Note: The Webcam tool is accessed through the Insert Stuff button of D2L's HTML Editor. For more information please visit the Insert Media Files page.
While creating a new item, within the HTML editor, click the Insert Stuff button, as shown to the left.
If you have not allowed for the Flash Player to access your webcam before:
When ready, click the Record button, then record your content.
If statisfied click the Next button and go to the next step.
If unsatisfied, click Clear and then record again.
Fill out the Title and Description fields, then click Next.
If you wish to preview, click the Refresh Preview button. Otherwise, click the Insert button, as shown to the left.
Your Webcam recording will now be inserted in the HTML Editor. Finish creating your item (assignment, discussion, etc...) and be sure to Save the item or your recording will not be inserted.
