Overview
The following documentation will demonstrate the process of hiding grade items from students. This process is helpful for an instructor if they wish to wait to release grades to students for any reason.

Step 1
Log into your D2L course and from the Assessments drop-down menu select Grades.

Click the title of the grade item that you wish to hide from students.

Click the Restrictions tab.

Step 4
You have a couple options when it comes to grade visibility:
- To make a grade item visible, select Grade item is always visible.
- To hide a grade item, select Hide this grade item.
- You may also chose to make a grade item visible for only a certain range by selecting Grade item is visible for a specific date range.
Also, if desired, attach release conditions for an item (ex. once item A has been submitted, item B can then be seen by a student)

Click on the Save and Close button.

Step 6
To make the grade item visible to students, repeat the steps 1-3 and select Grade item is always visible at step 4.
