SUBJECT: i>clicker Technology Updated; Pick up Your New Base Station

The Office of Information Technology (formerly ITS) recently updated i>clicker technology in Boulder campus classrooms to provide the latest i>clicker technology and avoid the registration issues that were experienced at the beginning of the spring 2011 semester.

Before the start of each semester, faculty should check to make sure they are using the most recent i>clicker and i>grader software, available from the OIT website at http://oit.colorado.edu/clickers. Additionally, faculty who currently have the charcoal-colored base stations will need to exchange them for newer equipment before the start of the fall semester. The old receivers may have issues with recognizing new versions of clickers, which may result in the collection of incorrect student data. To return your old i>clicker receiver and get a new one, contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from a campus phone).

CUClicker service is pre-installed in most classrooms and lecture halls seating over 40 students. New base station will be available in the media cabinets or they can be checked out at the IT Service Center. For a full list of equipped classrooms, please visit http://oit.colorado.edu/clickers.

Don't forget to update your syllabus regarding clickers; students can now register their clickers in the myCUInfo portal.
