Overview

The following documentation will show you how to add a news item to your course home page. This item will appear within the News widget on the homepage. If for any reason you do not have a news widget you must first add the news widget to your homepage.

There is no screenshot for this step.

Step 1

From the My Courses section on My Home, select your course.

From the drop-down menu next to the news widget click on the + icon.

Within the Headline textbox type in a headline.

Type in your news message within the Content textbox.

You can add links, images as well as other media (as shown to the left) by clicking on the corresponding icons.

If you would like your item to display at a later date or be removed at a certain time, set these times within the Availability section.

If you care to add an attachment to the news item, click the Add a File button and choose the file you would like to use.

Click Publish.

If you would like to release the news based on certain conditions (such as after a student completes a quiz) choose Attach Existing or Create and Attach based on whether you have already created these conditions or not.

Be sure to save after you have your news item as you would like it to be and it will appear on your the course homepage.
