Overview

Before connecting to any Internet service you will want to make sure that you are using your operating system's firewall.

Click the Start button, and select Control Panel.

Below Network and Internet select View network status and tasks.

Click on Local Area Connection.

The Local Area Connection Status window will open. Click on Properties.

The Local Area Connection Properties window will open.  Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.

Step 6

Internet Protocol Version 4 Properties will open.  Click the radio button for both Obtain IP address automatically as well as Obtain DNS Server address automatically. Click the OK button to close this window.

Now you may close every window, as your Network should be configured for DHCP.

Restart your computer.

Open a web browser to test your connection. In some instances, you may be asked to register your computer onto CU-Boulder's network. If you register your computer, you should clear your web browser's cache after registration.
