Apple Mail for OS 10.6 and OIT's Exchange service go hand in hand.
These are instructions for people who are already using Apple Mail for OS 10.6, and want to configure their program to access an Exchange account.
Please be advised that Mac Mail on OS 10.6.0 does NOT work with the CU exchange server, the program will crash. Make sure you update OSX to the latest service release to connect to exchange using Apple Mail.
If you cannot connect to Exchange and you have SecureMac (OIT provided application package that contains Fetch and terminal shortcuts) installed on your computer, you need to delete a file on your computer. Click here to find out how.
Open Apple Mail for OS 10.6. Click the Mail menu, and choose Preferences... from the drop-down menu.
In the pop-up window, enter your Full Name, Email Address and Password. Then click Continue as seen to the left:
Review the Account Summary and then click the Create button.
Exchange is now setup, and you will be able to see mail, calendar events and folders you have in your Exchange account.
