Browser Update Notice August 2014

SEVERE

Apple and Google have released updated versions of their respective browsers. If left unpatched, these vulnerabilities may allow attackers to execute arbitrary code, cause an unexpected application termination, obtain sensitive information or cause a denial of service.
 
The IT Security Office advises owners of the affected browsers to restart their browser or follow update instructions to facilitate updating.

Affected Software

  • Versions of Safari prior to version 6.1.6 and 7.0.6
  • Versions of Google Chrome prior to version 36.0.1985.143 (Windows/Mac/Linux/Chrome OS) and 36.0.1985.135 (Android)
