Students Needed for New Technology Advisory Board

Last Updated: 02/25/2014

Be a part of something new and exciting. The Associate Vice Chancellor for IT & Chief Information Officer is forming a student committee to advise on strategic IT initiatives aimed at improving the technological lives of the 30,000 students at CU-Boulder. This group addresses concerns with current services as well as providing forward-looking advice and counsel on new services.

The Student Technology Strategic Governance Board (The Board) will be part of the formal Information Technology Governance structure at CU-Boulder. This group will operate parallel to the IT Faculty Advisory Committee, IT Executive Advisory Committee, and the IT Administrative Advisory Committee. Each of these groups advises the Chief Information Officer on IT. The Board will consist of student leaders from across the university. Like all the IT governance groups, though all board members have some interest in technology, some may be technology enthusiasts and some casual technology users, creating a broad overall perspective. There will be graduate and undergraduate students from a wide range academic disciplines, schools, and colleges.

The Board will meet on the second Thursday of the month for a one and a half hour meeting. Commitment outside of these meetings will typically be a maximum of 30 minutes preparation, and possible optional recognition, celebration, or service launch events. If you are interested in being a member of the Board, please send an email to Chris Bell with a statement of interest and a resumé or description of related experience.  Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.
