Mark Werner is Associate Director of Academic Technology Research where he conducts research into the effectiveness of educational technologies. He also convenes and facilitates communities of faculty members who are interested in emerging technologies.
Previously he was Manager of Instructional Technology Support Services and a technology coordinator serving faculty in the arts and humanities. Before that he was an instructor and assistant professor of technical communication at the University of Colorado at Denver. While at Carnegie Mellon University, Mark was a research assistant at the Software Engineering Institute where he investigated software technology transition.
Mark has a Ph.D in rhetoric and a M.A. in English from Carnegie Mellon University. He has a B.S. in technical communication from the University of Minnesota. He has worked as an information editor at IBM Corporation and an editor of the Minnesota Technolog.
