Re-Licensing JMP

CU's license for JMP runs only one year at a time. So every license expires in late summer, and then a new SID file must be downloaded and used to license JMP for another year.

An SID file downloaded today can be used to install/license JMP any time through August.  In late August we post a new SID file so that you can re-license JMP for another year.

Be sure you have downloded the current SID file to a place you can easily browse to.  Then:

1. When JMP is not yet licensed, or an old license has expired:

  • Open JMP. The application should prompt you for a new license file (SID file) at launch.
  • Navigate to the license (SID) file and select it. JMP should then process the license file and run normally.
  • You're done. (You can now delete that SID file.)
  • If you had trouble with these steps (November-January) then try (2.):

2. Update JMP License Before Expiration

  • Download the appropriate current JMP license (SID) file, and note which folder it is downloaded into.
  • Open JMP.
  • Select the following menu command: File --> New --> Script.
  • Type the following command into the script window: Renew License();
  • Run the script by selecting the following menu command: Edit --> Run Script, or click on the "Run Script" icon.
  • JMP will ask for the new license data file (SID file).
  • Navigate to the license file and select it. JMP should then process the license file and run normally.
  • You're done. (You can now delete that SID file.)
