This fall semester, instructors and students will enjoy improved interaction between VoiceThread and Desire2Learn.
Instructors can now enable VoiceThread Course Views within individual Desire2Learn courses. This view is perfect for courses in which you plan to incorporate many VoiceThreads (including those created by students) as it nicely organizes and displays all VoiceThreads associated with that course. Upon enabling the VoiceThread Course View, a new group is automatically created in the instructor’s VoiceThread account with the same title as the Desire2Learn course, and the students from that course are automatically populated into the group for convenient management. For instructions on creating VoiceThread Course Views, read Part Six of the VoiceThread Instructor Guide.
Students, in addition to having one easy interface for browsing a course’s VoiceThreads, will no longer be prompted to log into VoiceThread when accessing VoiceThreads from the VoiceThread Course View.
New VoiceThread Course View
VoiceThread allows people to have asynchronous group conversations around presentations, images, documents, and videos uploaded to the VoiceThread cloud. Once a VoiceThread is shared, others can contribute their voice, video, or text comments to the VoiceThread, allowing it to organically grow as a group discussion.
CU-Boulder offers a campus-wide VoiceThread license. To access this service, go to https://colorado.voicethread.com.
There are several great VoiceThread resources available, for VoiceThread novices and pros alike:
And don’t forget to check out the brand new VoiceThread Digital Library to see how others are using VoiceThread - or to submit your own great examples.
