When key services are down, it's nice to be in the know. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) would like to take the opportunity to make you aware of the various communication channels OIT uses in outage situations to keep you informed.
By bookmarking and subscribing to these various channels now, you’ll ensure that you are in the know during unplanned outage events.
- Social Media. Follow us on Twitter for timely tweets on all unplanned service outages. OIT also has a presence on Facebook and Google+ and, during high-impact outage events, we’ll use these pages to provide updates as well.
- Service Alerts. OIT publishes all planned and unplanned outages as service alerts. You can bookmark our service alert page or, even better, subscribe to OIT’s service alert system to receive automated e-mail notifications. Instructions for subscribing can be found here.
- Alternate OIT Communications Channel. When an unplanned outage prevents us from accessing our usual service alert system on the OIT website, we activate our alternate communications channel. Because this site is hosted independently of CU-Boulder, it is available when other in-network sites are not. You are not able to subscribe to this site so we recommend bookmarking it for later reference.
