Submitted by stauffeg on

It’s a new school year and the year ahead holds so much promise. Technology will play a key role in your success and here are the top tips to help you make the most of CU Boulder’s technology and support services.

  1. Everyone: Register your portable devices in the CU Boulder laptop anti-theft registration program. Registering your devices can help prevent theft and assist in recovering your device if it is lost or stolen. Look for our tent in front of the Technology Learning Center.
  2. Everyone: Get free or reduced-price software like Microsoft Office and academic software like AutoCAD and Mathematica.
  3. Everyone: Install campus-provided antivirus on your new devices.
  4. Students: Enroll or re-enroll for the mobile printing service by swiping your Buff OneCard at any print release station.
  5. Instructors: Check out our D2L Start-of-Semester Tips.
  6. Instructors: Utilize campus accessibility resources to assure that your course materials are accessible to everyone.
  7. Students in residence halls: Register your networked gaming devices on the campus network by contacting the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357.
  8. Everyone: Get free training at Lynda.com for the latest software, creative and business skills.
  9. Everyone: Get IT help via phone, email and walk-in support for your computing issues.
  10. Everyone: Like and follow OIT on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and sign up for the OIT News Feed or Service Alerts, so you can get the latest CU Boulder IT news and tips throughout the year.

Make it a great year, Buffs!
