Faculty Computer Purchase Program

Last Updated: 12/26/2012
Overview

The Faculty Computer Purchase Program was initiated by former Chancellor Byyny. The program, launched in 1998, was created to help support faculty as they incorporate technology into their teaching and learning.

How the Program Works

  • Faculty are eligible for an FCPP subsidy of $1200 for a new computer every fourth year
  • Eligible faculty (and department liaisons) for the new fiscal year are notified by e-mail in July
  • Chosen computer system must satisfy OIT recommendations
  • Some additional software is provided by FCPP and need not be purchased
  • Faculty order their own computers, then request reimbursement from FCPP
Cost

CU-Boulder faculty are eligible for an FCPP subsidy of $1200 for a new computer every fourth year. Departments are responsible for the difference in cost if the computer exceeds $1200.

Who can get it

Eligible CU-Boulder faculty members.

Eligibility

Each college determines who is eligible. The basic principle of the program is to have each faculty member eligible once every four years based on who has the oldest computers. All eligibility decisions will be made at the college or department level.

Consultation is available by contacting 303-492-8995 or fcpp@colorado.edu.
