OIT has been rolling out lecture capture technology. This type of technology will automatically capture, store, and index classroom-related audio and video from faculty lectures, for subsequent review by students on the Web. OIT has partnered with vendor Sonic Foundry and is using their Mediasite solution to deliver the service.
As technologists continue to develop the service and support processes, the following classrooms have this technology available today: Duane G1B30, Chemistry 142, Humanities 1B50, VAC 1B20, ATLS 100, and MCDB A2B70. If you are teaching in one of these facilities, please contact the IT Service Center and they will have a representative from the OIT Academic Technology Support organization contact you to further discuss your requirements, our existing capabilities and provide additional information. OIT Academic Technology Consultants will also work with faculty to determine how this service can be appropriately utilized.
