You might say that Mark Werner, Associate Director of Academic Technology, Strategy and Support, was destined to work at the intersection of technology and education.
“I was a unique kid in that I grew up in Rochester, MN where it was a hotbed of technology with IBM and the Mayo Clinic located there,” recalled Mark. “We had a lot more technology in our schools and I started programming and tinkering with computers right away when they came out.”
Since launching Desire2Learn (D2L) in Spring 2011, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) has retained all courses, and their associated content and student data. However, because D2L is a cloud service, there are storage limits, which we have recently exceeded.
