Overview
OIT has an volume license agreement with Apple to provide licenses as a common good to CU-Boulder faculty and staff for select Apple products and upgrades. Apple software offered through this program is only available for computers purchased with CU-Boulder funds.
Software List
- Mountain Lion (Mac OS 10.8): for any Intel-based Mac (at least 1GB RAM, 10GB free disk). Read through our Mountain Lion page before upgrading.
- Lion (Mac OS 10.7): for any Intel-based Mac (at least 1GB RAM, 10GB free disk)
- iWork '09 (Keynote, Pages)
Features
- A selection of Apple's most common software packages and operating systems.
- Download site that gives you the ability to download installers.
Benefits
- The software and upgrades are available for to CU-Boulder faculty and staff (including student employees) for University owned computers.
- Software can be downloaded, burned to a disc and installed at your convenience.
- Apple Volume Licensing provides upgrades for Mac OS X, Pages, and Keynote, for all department-owned Macs, without direct expense to you or your department.
- Volume Licensing reduces the total amount of money the campus spends on Apple software and licenses.
Cost
Apple Volume Licensing (VL) is provided as a common-good to the campus which means there is no direct cost to you or your department.
Who can get it
- Faculty, staff, and student staff computers purchased with CU-Boulder funds.
- Only those with an 'employee' affiliation can log in to the download site.
How to get it
- Download software and install it yourself
- Log in with your IdentiKey to download disc images.
- If you download operating system software from the archive, particulary Mac OS 10.5 or 10.6, you will need to burn the Mac disk image (DMG) files to a dual-layer DVD.
- License keys are not required.
- CSR assistance
- Check with your Departmental Computing Support Representative (CSR). The CSR may already have media.
- OIT Desktop Support (Student Desktop Support Technicians) assistance
- Student Desktop Support Technicians can perform installations in the Walk-in Center and at your CU-Boulder office during a scheduled appointment.
License keys are not required.
