The Law School kicked off its Technology Topics Brown Bag Series this month with VoiceThread: Conversations in the Cloud and Campus IT Services: What’s in IT for you?
Courtney Fell, ATC for the College of Arts & Sciences and Language Technology Specialist for ALTEC, is a big fan of VoiceThread because it promotes active learning among her students and enhances learning inside and outside of the classroom. She showed law faculty how she uses VoiceThread to blend and flip her Spanish class and discussed the many ways one can share VoiceThreads with students. Courtney also gave a demonstration on how to get started with VoiceThread and addressed practical tips and considerations when learning how to use the tool and using it in the blended classroom and online environment.
Greg Stauffer, PR & Communications Manager, provided law faculty and staff with the latest and greatest information on campus IT services that are currently available as well as those on the horizon to enhance productivity, teaching, research, and creative works. He created a fabulous presentation with Prezi to highlight email, calendaring, Office 365, large file transfer, campus wireless, and campus site licensing. Greg also showed attendees how to access the variety of technology learning opportunities available via Skillsoft and Books 24x7 and gave a mini-tour of helpful information and resources on the OIT website.
Thank you, Courtney and Greg, for sharing your expertise with us!
