Tim-RiggsTim oversees the OIT Media Lab located in the ATLAS Building, where he assists students and faculty creating multi-media for class assignments, presentations, art installations and departmental communications.

After attending Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., Tim worked as a freelance photographer specializing in architecture and interior design. He earned an Apple Pro Training Certification in Final Cut Pro and is also knowledgeable in these multi-media tools:

  • Adobe Premiere, iMovie and Movie Maker (digital video production)
  • Audacity, Logic and Soundtrack Pro (audio editing)
  • iStop Motion (stop-motion video)
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat Pro X
  • Apple iLife suite (iMovie, iPhoto and Garageband)

The topics of Tim’s recent workshops and guest lectures include:

  • Introduction to Apple iMovie
  • Introduction to Final Cut Pro
  • Final Cut Pro - Beyond the Basics
  • Audacity
  • iPhoto and iMovie for Digital Storytelling

When not tinkering in the digital world, Tim’s time is largely consumed coaching youth ice hockey, pretending to play hockey himself, taking an all too infrequent fly fishing adventure, and wrenching on a classic ’62 Willys Wagon.
