In addition to 3 CU-Boulder students who won Gilman Scholarships for their summer 2014 study abroad programs, 3 more CU-Boulder students have been awarded the prestigious award for fall 2014 study abroad. The Gilman is a competitive scholarship that is awarded to U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant to help fund their study abroad experiences.

CU-Boulder student alumni of the Global Seminar: Conservation and Indigenous Peoples in Tanzania (Arusha, Tanzania) are working to bring lessons learned from their experiences abroad back to the Boulder campus.

Every fall and spring semester International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) disburses limited emergency grant funding for CONTINUING international students with financial emergencies. There are limited funds from 3 sources available this spring. Each fund has different eligibility criteria as follows:

NAFSA: Association of International Educators just released an updated report on the economic impact of international students in the U.S. They found that international students contributed $24 billion to the U.S. economy during the 2012-2013 academic year supporting 313,000 jobs. The contribution of international students in Colorado was $280,969,000,000 which supported 4,210 jobs. CU-Boulder international students' portion was $58,024,000 and their presence supported 988 jobs.
