Global Citizen Award Nominations

The Office of International Education (OIE) is pleased to announce the OIE Global Citizen Awards to honor and recognize outstanding contributions to international understanding by members of the CU Boulder community.

Applications and supporting material are due by 5 p.m. on October 7, 2016. The recipients of all awards will be honored during International Education Week at a special awards ceremony on November 16, 2016 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Winners of this year's awards will receive a $100 gift certificate!

Global Citizen of the Year Award 2016:

Someone who has made exemplary contributions to enrich the campus culturally and further international understanding. This could consist of academic research, extra-curricular campus activities, and/or CU community involvement abroad or in the U.S. (such as with service projects, student support, group activities). Normally, recipients have made contributions in more than one area.

Muneeb Kamal International Student of the Year Award 2016:

CU Boulder international students who are in the U.S. in a non-immigrant student status (e.g. F-1 or J-1) is a global citizens and inspire global citizenship in others and have made exemplary contributions to enrich the campus culturally and further international understanding. This could consist of academic research, extra-curricular campus activities, and/or community involvement abroad or in the U.S. (such as with school programs, civic group programs, or service projects). Normally, recipients have made contributions in more than one area. (The nominee must be on campus for Fall 2016 in order to be considered for an award.)

Study Abroad Student of the Year Award 2016:

Consideration for this award shall be given to current CU Boulder students who have participated in an official CU Boulder study abroad program, are global citizens and inspire global citizenship in others, have made exemplary contributions to enrich the campus culturally and further international understanding. This could consist of academic research, extra-curricular campus activities, and/or community involvement abroad or in the U.S. (such as with school programs, civic group programs, or service projects). Normally, recipients have made contributions in more than one area. (The nominee must be on campus for Fall 2016 in order to be considered for an award.)
