When to Arrive

F1 and J1 students may enter the US up to 30 days before the start date on your I-20 or DS-2019 .Plan your flight so that you will arrive in Denver at least one day before you are required to be at CU. The recommended arrival date varies depending upon if you are an undergraduate (including transfer students), graduate student, graduate teaching assistant or exchange student.

All new international students are invited to attend the Chancellor's Reception for New International Students at the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom at 4 p.m. on August 14th!

Plan your accommodation arrangements in accordance with your personal arrival date. Undergraduate international students attending International Student Orientation may move in to their residence hall room beginning on August 14, 2015. Graduate and exchange students can move in beginning August 20, 2015.  Saturday, August 22 Ask your academic department. There is a required ISSS International Graduate Orientation program on Friday, August 22, 2015. This is a mandatory program as long as it doesn't conflict with required department meetings.
An Exchange Student - only those at CU on a contract with your home university.

J-1 Exchange Student Immigration Reporting: Thursday, August 20, 2015.

Exchange students are required to attend the ISSS International Graduate Orientation program on Saturday, 22, 2015.  There will be critical information for exchange students at this meeting.

All undergraduates and undergraduate transfer students are required to attend International Student Orientation.  The mandatory program begins August 14, 2015. Please plan to spend a few days attending your required program and do not schedule other activities for these days.

All graduate students must sign up (Coming in March) for an Immigration Reporting Session AND attend the required ISSS Orientation program on August 22, 2015 (Location Coming Soon). Registration is required for the reporting sessions (registration is free).

Exchange Students (at CU on reciprocal contracts only) will complete the J-1 Exchange Student Immigration Reporting on August 20, 2015. Exchange students must also attend the required ISSS Orientation program on August 22, 2015 (Location Coming Soon).
