When to Arrive

F1 and J1 students may enter the US up to 30 days before the start date on your I-20 or DS-2019.

Plan your flight so that you will arrive in Denver at least one day before you are required to be at CU. The recommended arrival date varies depending upon if you are an undergraduate (including transfer students), graduate student, graduate teaching assistant or exchange student.

All undergraduates and undergraduate transfer students are required to sign up for and attend an Academic Orientation. Sign up now. All undergraduates must attend an academic orientation in order to register for classes. The mandatory program is from August 15-21, 2014. Please plan to spend these days attending your required program and do not schedule other activities for these days.

Important Information for New International Students for Fall 2014:

All new and transfer international undergraduate students will complete the Immigration Check-In with ISSS during their Orientation program, August 15-21, 2014.

All graduate students must sign up for an Immigration Check-In session AND attend the required ISSS Orientation program on August 23, 2014 at 9a.m. Registration is required for the check-in sessions (registration is free).

Exchange Students (at CU on reciprocal contracts only) must complete the J-1 Exchange Student Immigration Check-In on Thursday, August 21 at 10am. or 2p.m. Exchange students must also attend the required ISSS Orientation program on August 23, 2014 at 9a.m.

New International Students wtih a residence hall contract may move in to their residence hall room beginning on Friday, August 15, 2014. All residence hall students will receive more specific infromation regarding the move-in and check-in process in July. All new international Undergraduates are required to attend: Friday, August 15, at 2p.m. for Orientation check-in. The orientation program is from August 15-21.
 

A graduate student

The day before your department's meeting

 

  Ask your academic department. There is a required ISSS International Graduate Orientation program on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 9a.m. to 1p.m. in the Math Building, room 100; this is a mandatory program as long as it doesn't conflict with required department meetings.
An Exchange Student - only those at CU on a contract with your home university.

J-1 Exchange Student Immigration Check-In: Thursday, August 21 at 10 a.m. and 2p.m.

Exchange students are required to attend the ISSS International Graduate Orientation program from 9a.m. to 1p.m. on August 23, 2014 in the Math Building, room 100.  There will be critical information for exchange students at this meeting.
