Global Seminar Director Wins Design Award

December 19, 2013

Brian Cook, the faculty director for the Global Seminar: Contingent Future (La Paz, Mexico), has received the American Society of Landscape Architects Colorado 2013 Merit Award For Design (in conjunction with colleague, David Kahn, and the students in their spring 2013 Burke Park Praxis Studio).

Starting in summer 2014, Brian will annually take a group of CU students to Mexico on a Global Seminar organized by the CU-Boulder Office of International Education.  In the seminar, students will investigate how cultural heritage and a delicate landscape environment are involved with future development and tourism in La Paz. Contingent Future is one of 25 faculty-led Global Seminars that will run in summer 2014. Global Seminars are led by CU-Boulder faculty who teach courses in their area of expertise to small groups of CU-Boulder students around the world.
