Parents as Partners (PPP):
Building Bridges, Building Community

Group Photo of Multicultural Students

The Parents As Partners Program is a student retention effort designed to build bridges between the CU Boulder campus community and parents of multi-cultural and first generation students.   We strive to build partnerships that are essential to creating an environment that fosters overall student development and success.

Parents As Partners can connect you with campus and community resources to support your son or daughter as he or she transitions towards greater independence and self-reliance.

Our goals are to:

  • Provide you with information on student support services offered on the CU-Boulder campus.
  • Assist you in discovering what you can do to help your son or daughter become independent thinkers.
  • Provide you with information on your rights to information concerning your son or daughter
  • Connect you to other parents and key University officials.
  • Connect you to the CU Parents Association
  • Provide an avenue to voice your concerns, provide input and offer suggestions on how to improve campus experience for multi-cultural students.

Auxillary Program:

Adopt-a-Student Program
Community building program designed to match parents with low-income, international and out of state students.   Parents offer support and encouragement through care packages, holiday or birthday cards and other activities.

Home for the Holidays
Parents invite students who are unable to return to their families during holiday breaks to their homes. Parents have the opportunity to provide a nurturing environment, build community and foster cross-cultural understanding.

Multicultural Reception & Information Fair
An annual event held during the CU Parent's Association Family Weekend.   The evening includes multicultural entertainment, an information fair with student support services, community resources and refreshments.
