Our Mission

The Center for Multicultural Affairs seeks to promote the academic, personal, and professional success of all students through innovative programs and services. To this end, we aim to uphold the culture of achievement, facilitate individual transformation, embrace the ideals and values of inclusion, respect and social justice and to enable sutdents to take full advantage of their educational opportunities.

Our Vision

To have a transformational impact on all who learn, explore, impart knowledge, and contribute to the University of Colorado so they are prepared for success in the global community.

To this end, we enhance our long-standing commitment to multiculturalism and social justice by . . .

  • promoting access to higher education
  • helping students attain their educational goals
  • fostering individual expression & exchange of diverse thought
  • creating an inclusive environment through community engagement
  • developing socially responsible students that are prepared to lead in the 21st century
  • providing direction in support of CU-Boulder's commitment to diversity

At the Center for Multicultural Affairs, providing a welcoming place where students and other university members can express themselves is paramount.

Advocacy, advising, mentoring services, and programs offered are designed to help students empower themselves to explore, develop, and realize their academic, personal, and cultural strengths, as well as help them make valuable connections within the university community.

For more than three decades, the Center has been instrumental in helping CU tap diversity as a vital educational and societal resource. Opportunities for the wider university community to enhance their understanding and appreciation of diverse communities are available through CMA's diversity education program.
