First Generation Scholars Program

The First Generations Scholars Progam is a comprehensive community based program which includes student development, advising and academic support for eligible scholarship recipients. Students are welcomed into the program upon confirmation to CU and given assistance through graduation. Students must fulfill program requirements to maintain eligibility. Requirements are designed to foster individual academic excellence, as well as enhance social development through active participation in a variety of community building opportunities.

"College Success Tips" from the Bronx Princess with High School Students

"Bronx Princess: College Success Tips" is a four-minute video designed for students who are starting college or preparing for college as high school students. In this short video, Rocky Otoo (the "Bronx Princess") shares a toolkit for students to help them have a successful first year at college or university. Tips like 'How to Avoid Culture Shock' and 'Staying in Touch with your Family' are illustrated with engaging animation and clips from the award-winning PBS POV film, Bronx Princess.
