For the past 3 years, the Office of Industry Collaboration (OIC) has been supporting the execution of service agreements for external sales. These service agreements are used for the sale of goods and services (fee for service) from CU Boulder for an external entity and currently utilize auxiliary funds. Categories may include consulting, work for hire, testing, analysis, equipment use, specific training, etc. The work may be similar to sponsored research projects, but without scientific investigation or conclusions.

As of April 2017, service agreements are now under the Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) contracting umbrella. Nicole Carleton has moved from OIC to OCG to fill the newly established role of Service & Research Agreement Project Manager. Through this dedicated position for service agreements, a higher level of support from inception through closeout will be provided.

OCG is currently working with their counterparts in the Campus Controller’s Office/Sponsored Projects Accounting, departments and campus leadership to navigate the necessary changes that will come from this transition. At this time, the only adjustment is the change in contractual management to OCG.

You can expect ongoing communications as we solidify modifications to the process and criteria.  Please continue to communicate directly with Nicole Carleton as your OCG point of contact for questions, projects or new requests.
