University of Colorado Boettcher Scholars

Since 1952 the Boettcher Foundation has helped talented Colorado students obtain their undergraduate degrees by offering generous four-year, merit-based scholarships for attendance at any of the colleges or universities in the state. In that time, nearly 2000 Colorado high school students have accepted the Boettcher Scholarship. The University of Colorado at Boulder is proud to have educated and conferred degrees on over 700 of these scholarship recipients.

Aside from in state residency, eligibility requirements for the Boettcher Scholarship include being in the top 5% of the student’s high school class--or one of the top 2 students in classes of under 40. The Boettcher Foundation selects and supports the scholars and they receive additional campus support through Special Undergraduate Enrichment Programs (SUEP) and the Boettcher Team.

Undergraduate Enrichment Programs at the University of Colorado at Boulder provide a broad network of resources and support for talented CU students who show especially strong intellectual motivation and curiosity. In addition to the Boettcher Scholars, programs in SUEP include Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and Norlin Scholars. This constellation of programs helps students create an enhanced education within the environment of a large university by providing research and creative opportunities, mentoring and advising, participation in a wide range of activities both academic and social, and the friendship and stimulation that result from being a member of an extended intellectual community.
