Firmin named CU Art Museum director

Sandra Q. Firmin, curator of UB Art Galleries at SUNY Buffalo, has been named the director of the University of Colorado Boulder Art Museum. Firmin will begin as director on April 21, replacing interim director Stephen Martonis.

A patent has been awarded to a research group led by Christopher Bowman, Ph.D. for technology enabling detection of low levels of biological molecules, with applications in diagnostic and environmental sensing.

Join our Faculty and Staff Assistance Program counselors, Janeen Haller-Abernethy and Claire Chang for a 8-week support group utilizing walking and easy hiking to manage stress and overall mood as well as symptoms of anxiety and depression. Participants will experiment with various paces and styles of walking to identify impact on mood.

CU in Space

Astronaut-alum Steve Swanson launched to the International Space Station yesterday at 3:17 p.m. MDT. Swanson, who will begin his arrival at ISS as flight commander of Expedition 39 and finish it as space station commander for Expedition 40, is expected to dock at the ISS at 5:58 p.m. MDT Thursday.
