The nationally recognized excellence of the University of Colorado’s campuses and undergraduate programs is again highlighted in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges, the 2014 edition of which was released today.

Those were the stomach contents of an enormous black bear shot by Colorado Parks and Wildlife rangers Monday morning, the second bear killed in Boulder in three days, and they represent a big reason that bears end up dead, wildlife officials said.

Behind the scenes: Growing knowledge in the green house

For 22 years, Tom Lemieux has been nurturing both plants and students at CU-Boulder. As director of plant science facilities, Lemieux along with Assistant Greenhouse Manager Janice Harvey, manages the three greenhouses maintained by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

It may not seem that daunting of a task until you learn that Lemieux is responsible for the health and well being of more than 6,000 plants of 1,000 different species.

Albert Allen Bartlett, professor emeritus of physics at the University of Colorado Boulder, was remembered today as a revered teacher who had a major impact on his students, the university, Boulder and far beyond.

CU Police ask for help in ID’ing suspect in laptop thefts

CU Police have received reports of eight laptop thefts this month in Engineering and Chemistry. The public is asked to help identify the suspect from surveillance video.

Come learn empowering and effective verbal and physical skills to increase your safety in a wide range of real-life scenarios involving intimate partners, dates, acquaintances, and strangers. Through interactive discussion and hands on practice, we will explore the importance of intuition, the realities oft violence and safety, learn to convey awareness, and assert our boundaries.

CPR Training

Community CPR/FA/AED offered at the Rec Center

The Rec Center is offering Community CPR/FA/AED to both members and nonmembers of the Rec Center. All certification classes offered by the Student Recreation Center meet the standards for current American Red Cross Emergency Cardiovascular Care Guidelines.

Wardenburg Student Health Advisory Board recruiting now

Are you interested in having a voice in the health care provided to students on campus? Do you want to know more about how a health center operates? The Student Health Board provides an opportunity for students to improve the health and well-being of CU students. Please attend our informational meeting on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. in the West Solarium of Wardenburg on the third floor to learn more.

The CU Women's Ultimate Frisbee team is looking for new recruits! Whether you have played ultimate Frisbee before or are looking to try out a new sport, come check out the informational meeting. It’s a great way to play competitively, get in shape, meet new friends and have fun. Practices are Monday and Wednesday on Franklin Field from 8-10 p.m. and Tuesdays and Fridays on the Business Fields from 3:30-6 p.m. Stop by and check it out.
