Let Freedom Ring: CU-Boulder commemorates 50th anniversary of 'I Have a Dream'

The power of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words have resonated through the last half-century and shaped CU’s learning and living environment from civics classes and student groups, to internships with the “I Have A Dream” Foundation.

Today, the campus participated in the international observation of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. Vice Chancellor Bob Boswell marked the occasion as he “Let Freedom Ring” from the Center for Community’s bell at 3 p.m.

Fans urged to show sportsmanship and responsibility during CU-CSU game

University of Colorado Boulder officials are urging CU fans to show sportsmanship and take buses or carpool with a designated driver to the 4 p.m. Rocky Mountain Showdown football game with Colorado State University on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Startup Phenomenon Women

Startup Phenomenon Women comes to CU-Boulder Sept. 3

This one-day conference features a lineup of world-class entrepreneurs, investors, and influencers coming together to explore and discuss women who are reshaping entire industries as well as local entrepreneurial ecosystems. We will dive into finance, mentorship, social entrepreneurship, negotiation and many other topics. Drop in, or stay with us the whole day on Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Macky Auditorium on the CU-Boulder campus. Discounted CU student tickets available.

Deadline to select/waive your health insurance is Sept. 4

All students enrolled in six credits or more (one credit for graduate students) will be automatically enrolled in the Student Gold Health Insurance Plan and billed $1,515 per semester unless the Wardenburg Campus Care Plan is selected or all coverage is waived by Sept. 4, 2013. More information.

Show your CU pride - College Colors Day is this Friday

College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day on Friday, August 30. Break out your black and gold (and silver and gold) and show your CU pride.

Colorado Volleyball opening weekend

CU Volleyball begins its 2013 season with a pair of matches against St. Mary's on Friday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Coors Events Center. On Saturday, the first 150 fans get Mini-Volleyballs courtesy of Omni Hotels.

Farrand Field movie night Aug. 30

The Rec Center offers a variety of martial arts classes

Learn a martial art for fitness, self-defense, or self-confidence. All of our instructors are professionals of high rank, with many years of practice and experience behind them. The first class is free! Martial art classes are offered to both members and nonmembers of the recreation center. Learn more.
