CU Police release composite sketch in aggravated assault at Broadway underpass

The University of Colorado Boulder Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying suspects involved in the Broadway underpass assault on August 23, 2013. 

A composite sketch of one of the suspects, identified as Suspect #2 below, is shown here. Multiple witnesses confirmed that Suspect #2 left the scene with a bloody nose. An additional witness, who reportedly had contact with the suspects shortly after the assault, has told police the two suspects indicated that they are freshmen at CU. 

Anyone who has information about this crime, or who believes they may know the identity of those involved, should contact CU Police at 303-492-6666.

CU-Boulder launches new degree to create STEM teachers through engineering

The University of Colorado Boulder is launching a new General Engineering Plus undergraduate degree with the CU Teach Engineering concentration this fall for current first-year and sophomore students interested in earning secondary school (grades 7-12) science or math teaching licensure.

The GE+ degree program offers an interdisciplinary, hands-on, design-based engineering core curriculum, coupled with an engineering disciplinary emphasis (aerospace, mechanical, environmental, architectural, or civil) and a “Design Your Own” concentration in an area within or external to engineering.

CU-Boulder supports the Fulbright Program

More CU-Boulder students than ever, thirteen, have been successful in receiving U.S. Student Fulbright grants for 2013-2014! The deadline for CU students to apply for 2014-2015 grants is September 9, 2013. We are currently looking for faculty who would be willing to serve on the Campus Screening Committees for these applicants. Each faculty member generally interviews 2-5 applicants as part of committee comprised of 2-3 other faculty. If you are a current or retired faculty member interested in serving in this capacity, please contact Nancy Vanacore ( or 303-492-2976).

CU's Parking & Transportation Services and the Environmental Center have partnered to make bike registration online and now free of charge for faculty, staff, and students. You will need your manufacturer, model, color, and serial number to register you bike.
