Last year, I announced an aggressive goal of $100 million in annual giving for our campus. In May the university announced a realignment of the development structure to move fundraising staff from the CU Foundation to the university. Folding our fundraising arm into the fabric of the university will result in a more coordinated development effort and will reflect the operations of high-performing public universities nationwide.
James Austin has been named interim dean of CU-Boulder’s College of Music, Provost Russell Moore announced today. The appointment is effective on July 1.
Austin, a professor of music education, joined the College of Music in 1994. He has served as associate dean of undergraduate studies since 2006. He was the music education chair from 1997 to 2007. In 2004, the college awarded Austin the Richard Bern Trego faculty fellowship.
The cost of curtailing the 4/20 event in 2013 was reduced by nearly $17,000 compared with costs incurred in 2012, University of Colorado Boulder administrators announced today. CU-Boulder spent $107,794 to close the campus to non-affiliates this year, and $124,561 to close the campus on April 20, 2012.
