Inside the natural history museums of the world are billions of animal and plant specimens from birds, fish and beetles to flowers, mushrooms and grasses, all stacked, stored and preserved in jars and collection drawers.

Arapahoe Avenue, between Folsom and 15th streets, is in poor condition and in need of reconstruction. From late May 2013 through fall 2014, the City of Boulder will reconstruct the roadway into concrete and add other improvements to preserve and enhance Arapahoe Avenue. From after Memorial Day through mid-August 2013, only one eastbound lane on Arapahoe Avenue will be open to vehicular traffic. Westbound traffic and the JUMP transit service will be detoured onto Canyon Boulevard.
