Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings on Thursday, May 16, in honor of Cpl. David Sonka, a Marine from Parker who was killed in Afghanistan. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset.
Sonka, 23, was killed in action in Afghanistan on May 4, 2013. He was assigned to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
