Chancellor's Corner: SUCCEED Health Assessment deadline extended to April 5

The deadline for the friendly Be Colorado SUCCEED Health Assessment campus participation rate competition has been extended until this Friday, April 5, and it’s a good thing for the Boulder campus. We currently trail all the other campuses with only 13% of our employees participating thus far. We’re also still below our 14.67% participation rate from the last campus competition, and I thought we could easily meet our goal this year of 25%.

Guggenheim family endows chair with $2.25 million gift to Leeds School

A better understanding of the core drivers that help great leaders innovate — and avoid failure — is key to advancing global enterprise. The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder is now better equipped to advance this understanding, thanks to a new $2.25 million gift from the Thomas Stix Guggenheim family to establish an endowed faculty chair aimed at educating new generations of entrepreneurs on the core drivers of successful business design and innovation.

Colorado business confidence surges going into second quarter, says CU-Boulder Leeds School

The confidence of Colorado business leaders has surged going into the second quarter of 2013, according to the most recent Leeds Business Confidence Index, or LBCI, released today by the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business.

CU engages the best: interdisciplinary symposium highlights achievements of top student scholars

Twenty-five students representing all disciplines across campus competed in the CU-LEAD Alliance Third Annual Student Symposium on March 18, for six prize categories. The CU-LEAD Alliance Third Annual Student Symposium showcases the creative and scholarly research and projects through interdisciplinary engagement and dialogue.

Traveler Alert: US 36 closed nightly between Church Ranch and Wadsworth: April 3-8

April 3-8: US 36 will be closed nightly, between 9 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. between Church Ranch and the Wadsworth interchanges. US 36 bus stations at Broomfield and Church Ranch will be temporarily relocated during this closure.

Stress reduction is a concern for everyone in these busy and uncertain times. In this educational and participatory lunch and learn, we will learn and practice several different effective strategies for reducing everyday life stress, including mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and emotional health and regulation.

Meet and greet with Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet

Acting Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet will be visiting CU-Boulder for the Conference on World Affairs. Your CU Peace Corps representatives will host a meet and greet with Carrie on Wednesday, April 10, from 7 - 8 p.m. in the UMC Room 235. There will be a cultural performance, a Returning Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) presentation and a talk by Carrie.
