Peace Corps Palooza at CU-Boulder March 11

Thinking about joining the Peace Corps? Learn about the experience from Peace Corps volunteers who have served all over the world, during the Peace Corps Palooza on Monday, March 11, at 6 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event will include round table discussions, snacks, information sessions and a keynote speech from Ryan Van Duzer, a CU-Boulder and Peace Corps alumnus who served in Honduras.

Erupting volcanoes offset recent Earth warming

A team led by the University of Colorado Boulder looking for clues about why Earth did not warm as much as scientists expected between 2000 and 2010 now thinks the culprits are hiding in plain sight -- dozens of volcanoes spewing sulfur dioxide.

Rec Center construction update: Ice rink work intensifies, increased truck traffic in area

Construction on the new ice rink at the Rec Center will intensify on March 4. Expect to experience high truck traffic along Stadium Drive (connecting Folsom Street with the east side of the Rec Center) through late March.

Interested in environmental and international social issues? Come hear about how fracking impacts the economic and environmental structure of both Colorado and Texas. In this discussion,we will analyze whether or not hydraulic fracturing should be federally or state regulated and will compare Colorado and Texas on produced water regulations. Join us Wednesday, Mar. 6 in the Dennis Small Cultural Center, UMC 457 from 2-3 p.m.
