Off-campus housing fair March 6

It's not too late to find housing for fall. Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations is hosting a second Off-Campus Housing Fair on March 6, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballrom. The fair is a convenient way to meet property managers and local landlords and collect information on 100s of available properties. Students will enjoy free pizza at noon and one lucky student will even win a new 40" LED TV for his/her next rental.

Student life: Finding a community on campus

At first, Kisori Thomas had a difficult time acclimating to the campus climate at CU-Boulder.  Initially, other than her coursework, she wasn’t active outside the classroom.

Realizing she wanted a more well-rounded education, experience and personal growth, she took a big step outside her comfort zone and began looking for student leadership and multicultural organizations to join. This also included studying abroad in Chicoutimi, Canada, for a five-week French intensive program.

Mystery radiation ring around the Earth catches scientists by surprise

With the flip of a switch, a pair of instruments designed and built by the University of Colorado Boulder and flying onboard twin NASA space probes have forced the revision of a 50-year-old theory about the structure of the radiation belts that wrap around the Earth just a few thousand miles above our heads.

March is Women's Herstory Month

March is Women's Herstory Month. Women's stories matter! Among CU’s own stories are Mary Rippon, the first woman professor at CU, teaching math, French, German and English in 1878, and Lucile Berkeley Buchanan, who in 1918 became the first African American to graduate from the university.

Participants needed for CU research study on mental health, earn $25

Earn $25 for participation in a 2-hour study. The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development.

Baby

Are you the mother of a baby between 3 and 6 months?

Are you a new mom?
Have you felt down or depressed at any point in your life?

If your baby is between 3 and 6 months of age, you may be eligible to participate in a study examining the effects of a brief mindfulness practice on a mother's mood, stress, and how things are going with her baby. The study consists of filling out questionnaires and watching and responding to a short movie. Participants also may be asked to do a brief daily mindfulness practice. In addition, childcare will be provided while you are at our research offices.
