I want to take this opportunity to express my enthusiasm for an important new CU-Boulder merit scholarship program for top-entering Colorado freshmen next fall.

Departmental Property Managers have new tools to track capital assets

On the Boulder campus, 120 Departmental Property Managers (DPMs) track and control over $285 million dollars’ worth of capital equipment. To help them accomplish this task, Accounting and Business Support (ABS), the Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) and Property Services have created an online centralized point of contact called Property Central, and provide new tools and certification opportunities to make the property management process smoother and even more professional.

CU Law School appoints Brad Udall director of newly named Getches-Wilkinson Center

The University of Colorado Law School announced today that it is hiring Brad Udall as director of the newly renamed Natural Resources Law Center, which will now be called the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy and Environment.

Protecting student data - now and always

Safeguarding data protected by FERPA isn’t just a 9-to-5 responsibility or solely the duty of those who teach. To the extent that you have access to systems that contain student information and job responsibilities that occasionally extend beyond the office, protecting FERPA data is a 24x7x365 duty. Equity and Excellence Awards call for nominations

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement (ODECE) seeks nominations for the 28th Annual Equity and Excellence Awards. The award is designed to recognize students, staff and faculty who have successfully and effectively worked to promote the principles of diversity and inclusive excellence in teaching, learning, higher education program management, or leadership practices and execution. The recipients will be honored at the Equity and Excellence Celebration on Tuesday, April 23, in the Glenn Miller Ballroom.

Annual Disclosure of External Professional Activity (DEPA) reporting period for 2013

This is to remind all faculty members and all research personnel, as well as staff who support department compliance reporting processes, of the requirement to complete a Disclosure of External Professional Activities (DEPA) annually, by March 31, 2013. Failure to submit can result in delayed processing of grant/contract proposals, establishing speedtypes, renewal /continuation of speedtypes, delayed approval from compliance review committees such as IRB, IACUC, etc.. All personnel responsible for the design, conduct or reporting of research are required to submit a DEPA.

Stalking Awareness Month

January is National Stalking Awareness Month.

About 6.6 million people are stalked each year in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
