Shalaya Kipp named 2012 College Women's Athlete-of-the-Year

The 2013 calendar year is starting off on a great note for University of Colorado senior Shalaya Kipp as she was named the 2012 College Women's Athlete-of-the-Year as selected by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

CU-Boulder's International Coffee Hour

Free food, prizes and great conversations with CU-Boulder students from all over the world are some of the reasons International Coffee Hour is a popular ongoing event at the University of Colorado Boulder. The student group CU International hosts the coffee hour on Fridays when fall and spring classes are in session.

Boulder Police Department adds officers to University Hill

The following is a news release from the Boulder Police Department:

Residents will see more police officers on patrol in central Boulder as part of a new Neighborhood Impact Team approach the police department is implementing to prioritize problem-solving and police response in those areas.

Doing It All - Support group for new mothers integrating work and family life

Come join other professional women with young children for support, information and camaraderie as we explore how it feels to live a full, balanced life amidst our dual (and often dueling) roles. Topics include self-care, managing energy, parenting, career development, and creativity. Every other Tuesday, 12 - 1:30 p.m., UMC 353, 3rd Floor

2013 Spring Career and Internship Fair

Stop by the Spring Career and Internship Fair next Tuesday and Wednesday in the UMC!

The Spring Career and Internship Fair is next Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the UMC Ballroom. The fair is a FREE opportunity for CU students and alumni to connect with a variety of local, regional, and national employers. With different employers each day, this year Career Services will host 150 employers that are looking to connect with students. Faculty and staff are invited to attend the fair to talk with employers to learn about opportunities for students.

Potluck dinner Jan. 19 with ISSS, CU International and CMA

Join the Center for Multicultural Affairs (CMA), CU International and International Student & Scholar Services for a potluck dinner on Jan. 19, while enjoying the company of domestic and international students! Main dishes will be provided, but please bring some small food item to share.

Student Employee of the Year nominations

The Student Employment Office is accepting nominations for Student Employee of the Year. Work-study, hourly, and salaried student employees are eligible. First place will receive a $75 gift certificate courtesy of the CU Bookstore and will be nominated for the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators Award. Second place will receive a $50 gift certificate. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 15, 2013. National Student Employment Week is Apr. 7-13, 2013.
