CU Police

CU-Boulder Police Department conducts annual live exercise on East Campus

Today, the University of Colorado Boulder Police Department (UCPD) conducted their annual training exercises on active shooter response called Rapid Emergency Deployment training. The exercise was held on the East Campus in the currently unoccupied McAllister Building on Discovery Drive.

UCPD dispatchers and police officers train frequently for active shooter incidents, and they work frequently with local law enforcement agencies.

An evening of sit down with Robin Williams Jan. 18

Renowned actor and comedian Robin Williams will be at CU-Boulder on Friday, Jan. 18, in Macky Auditorium for a sit down discussion with television director and host of the Showtime series, Inside Comedy, David Steinberg. The sit down will begin at 8 p.m., and tickets are currently on sale.

No smoking

Smokers' Quit Group (Smoking Cessation Support Group)

Group counseling focused on building motivation and behavior change has been proven successful in supporting the smoker who is trying to quit or who is actively quitting. Have you picked a ‘quit date’? In need of support while you quit ‘cold turkey’ or with the help of medications or quit aids? Join FSAP staff and other quitters for a weekly Quit Group. This program is open to CU-Boulder employees and meets every Wednesday at the UMC over lunch.

Bernadette Faine Rochell is retiring!

Please join us in celebrating the retirement of Bernadette Faine Rochell from CU-Boulder. After 24 years of service to the University, Bernadette is happily making the leap into retirement on Jan. 31. The days of focusing on funds, accounts and spreadsheets will soon be replaced by days focusing on her grandson, Braxton. We hope you can join us at a reception celebrating her career with the University.

Fun research project for kids 3 to 5 and 8 to 10 years old

Come participate in a fun research project for kids 3 to 5 and 8 to 10 years old at the Leeds School of Business, where we're studying the links between food advertising policy and childhood obesity. Study runs throughout the day on Jan. 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).

Chancellor's Committee on Women Annual Women's Advocacy Awards

Know someone at CU who is an advocate for other women? Know a department that continually works to improve the climate for women at CU? Nominations of students, faculty, staff, departments, or units are currently being accepted for the annual Chancellor’s Committee on Women (CCW) awards.
