CU-Boulder team develops swarm of pingpong ball-sized robots

University of Colorado Boulder Assistant Professor Nikolaus Correll likes to think in multiples. If one robot can accomplish a singular task, think how much more could be accomplished if you had hundreds of them. Correll and his computer science research team recently created a swarm of 20 robots, each the size of a pingpong ball, which they call “droplets.” When the droplets swarm together, Correll said, they form a “liquid that thinks.”

Congress works better than many think, new research shows

Self-manufactured crises -- like the looming "fiscal cliff" -- may help Congress get work done, according to a new book co-authored by Professor Scott Adler.

Free Midnight Breakfast to be held Dec. 17

The countdown to finals has begun, which means that Midnight Breakfast is almost here! The semi-annual event will take place on Monday, Dec. 17. Activities start at 9:30 p.m., and breakfast is served from 11:59 p.m. until 1 a.m. in the UMC Alfred Packer Grill. Everything is free for CU students, so pack up your books and notes, come to the UMC, and grab some FREE food on us!

CU-Boulder double-degree credit requirements changed

Starting in January 2013 it will become easier for students to earn some double degrees on the University of Colorado Boulder campus so that they can complete their academic goals more quickly and with less cost.

Faculty & staff nights at Colorado Basketball

Free student film festival on climate change

Students and campus members are invited to join a panel of judges in viewing a series of student-produced short films on climate change, during a free film festival on Friday, Dec. 14, from 5-8 p.m. in ATLAS 100. Students will present several five-minute films as their final projects for the class, Climate Change and Video: Science and Expression Through Video Production and Presentation.
