Work-life balance is a hot topic across the nation. We all strive to balance the demands of our jobs with the lives we lead outside of work hours, and look for support especially when these demands on our time are in direct conflict. Programs like Sittercity and Years Ahead from SelectPlus give university personnel and graduate students access to resources for finding this support.

What you need to know about upcoming DEPA reporting requirements

The Disclosure of External Professional Activity (DEPA) annual reporting period for 2013 will occur Jan. 15, 2013 through March 31, 2013. The reporting form will be modified to accommodate new regulatory changes. The CU-Boulder campus Office of Conflict of Interest & Commitment wants to make sure that personnel who have to file this form, or support the filing process, familiarize themselves the requirements and procedures.

CU-Boulder to offer new interdisciplinary construction management track

A new partnership between the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business and the College of Engineering and Applied Science, spurred by a gift, will have positive implications for the construction and real estate industries.

Research team finds massive crevasses and bendable ice affect stability of Antarctic ice shelf

Gaping crevasses that penetrate upward from the bottom of the largest remaining ice shelf on the Antarctic Peninsula make it more susceptible to collapse, according to University of Colorado Boulder researchers who spent the last four Southern Hemisphere summers studying the massive floating sheet of ice that covers an area twice the size of Massachusetts.

Class project leads to holiday benefit concert for the homeless

One student’s class project has led him to see homeless people in a new light. The result of his experience is a holiday concert to benefit the homeless.

Like many people, Joe Cherof, a freshman majoring in business, had walked by homeless musicians playing on Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall. Cherof would sometimes toss a couple of dollars into their hat. That all changed the day Cherof noticed a familiar face playing music on the mall.

CU-Boulder to issue new request for proposals to relocate Grandview Terrace bungalows

The University of Colorado Boulder is issuing a new request for proposals to relocate three bungalows from the Grandview Terrace area.
