Good news for Colorado's economy

Colorado will continue on the road to recovery and add a variety of jobs in 2013 across almost all business sectors following a positive year in 2012, according to economist Richard Wobbekind of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business.

Staff Council Update: Classified and OEP Staff Winter Breakfast and Total Health Fair

The Boulder Campus Staff Council is sponsoring the 2012 Staff Breakfast with special guests from Total Health Fair, Sittercity, Be Colorado, Human Resources and Payroll Benefits Services. To add to the fun, several CU-Boulder Administrators and Staff Council members will be your servers. Join us Dec. 6, 7 – 9 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University Memorial Center. This is a free event for all CU-Boulder classified and professional exempt staff. Buff OneCard needed for entry.

Give where you live: Colorado Combined Campaign

A fall tradition at the University of Colorado Boulder, the annual State of Colorado charitable giving campaign is back for 2012. The Colorado Combined Campaign, which began in 1988 under an executive order from the Office of the Governor, provides all state employees with a once-a-year charitable solicitation that is diverse, fairly-managed and efficient.

Congratulations to Buff Energy Star winners: Jerry Greene (MCDB) and Clark Oldroyd (Koenig Alumni Center)

Two campus buildings—the Koenig Alumni Center and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB)—attained Buff Energy Star status during the 2011-2012 fiscal year, in which building employees reduce energy usage by at least 5% over the previous fiscal year.

Generations in the Workplace workshop

Ever wonder if generational differences are hampering your workplace effectiveness? This seminar will examine the different perspectives each generation brings to the workplace as well as offer tips on how to maximize interactions with co-workers. Special emphasis will be placed on communicating with, motivating, and rewarding different generations.

Bursar's Office opens at 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 7

The Bursar's Office will open at 9:15 on Friday, Dec. 7 so that staff can attend a special training. Payroll checks will not be available until the Bursar's Office opens at 9:15.

Chanukah Dinner Party

Join Chabad at CU for a free buffet dairy dinner: Latkes, chocolate gelt and jelly donuts. Games and prizes too! There are a few games with prizes as well. Spin the Dreidel and Chanukah Jeopardy. Amazing door prizes will be given out, please bring a can of food which will be donated to the local food pantry. Celebrate Chanukah in style!
