As Alumni celebrate coming “Back to Boulder” and current students “Go for the Gold”, Program Council is excited to be kicking off Homecoming Week with its annual Homecoming Concert on Thursday, Nov. 1 in Glenn Miller, with headliner Schoolboy Q featuring a surprise co-headliner and local producer, Be Good for support. Tickets can purchased in advance at www.programcouncil.com. Student tickets with a valid ID will be $3 in advance and $5 at the door, while public tickets will be $10. Doors and music will both be at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov.
Monday, Oct. 29, marks the launch of the new cross-campus nLab for moving ideas into action and the kickoff to the fifth annual New Venture Challenge. The combined event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom of the Wolf Law building. Each year, the Center of the American West awards cash prizes to talented CU-Boulder students writing on Western topics. All CU-Boulder degree students are eligible to enter. Categories include poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, academic non-fiction, and memoir. The work must have as its subject or theme any aspect of the American West.
The Gay-Straight Alliance presents its annual Drag Show - a gender-bending performance collaboration by CU students, staff, faculty and Boulder/Denver community members. Fun for kings, queens, and in-betweens, an experience of queer culture open to everyone!
Tickets are free of charge, available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the UMC Atrium starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 27. Attendees are encouraged to come early, as tickets go quickly! The show starts at 8 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom.
