Discoveries hold promise for the treatment of millions

A University of Colorado Boulder-led team has discovered two prime targets of the Hepatitis B virus in liver cells, findings that could lead to treatment of liver disease in some of the 400 million people worldwide currently infected with the virus.

Climate variability and conflict risk in East Africa measured

While a new study led by the University of Colorado Boulder shows the risk of human conflict in East Africa increases somewhat with hotter temperatures and drops a bit with higher precipitation, it concludes that socioeconomic, political and geographic factors play a much more substantial role than climate change.

CU-Boulder team wins the 2012 WEF Student Design Competition

A team of students from CU-Boulder joined students from the University of South Florida as winners of the Water Environment Federation's 2012 Student Design Competition. The eleventh annual competition took place this month in New Orleans.

CU’s project “Broadmoor Park Properties Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade” won in the wastewater design category. This was the second win for CU-Boulder (a student chapter of the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association) in eleven years.

Construction update: 18th & Colorado

A project to install a new campus utility system is currently focused on 18th & Colorado, where workers are boring two holes under 18th Street and installing utility pipes. The patience of the campus community is greatly appreciated during this temporary disruption. The construction is expected to be complete by approximately the first or second week of November.

CU Presents: The Rake’s Progress

Igor Stravinsky's opera "The Rake's Progress" will be performed Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. The orchestra and ensemble are composed of CU College of Music students.
