State of the Campus Address to focus on updating Flagship 2030 amid new realities

Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano will offer his fourth State of the Campus address to faculty, staff, students and the CU community on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom on the CU-Boulder campus.

The chancellor, who is beginning his 39th academic year on the campus as a faculty member, dean and senior administrator, says the speech will focus on “defining our top priorities for improving the student experience, CU-Boulder’s reputation and our financial stability.”

CU Athletics & CU GLBTQ Resource Center brings champion wrestler to campus to speak on allyship in athletics

On Oct. 10, CU Athletics and the CU GLBTQ Resource Center will present Hudson Taylor, 3-time NCAA wrestling champion, to speak on GLBTQ allyship in athletics. The educational talk will be held in Eaton Humanities, room 1B50 at 7 p.m.

Creating a respectful working and learning environment

What would a working and learning environment in which everyone felt respected look like? How would people act toward one another? How would conflict be dealt with in such an environment? How can we recognize units where this is already happening and encourage even more of that – both there and elsewhere? What would it take to develop and maintain such an environment? These challenging and important questions will not be neatly answered in this highly interactive half-day workshop. But, participants will learn about successful proactive organizational change strategies and also discuss options available to leaders and to non-leaders for encouraging a more respectful working and learning environment here at the University of Colorado Boulder. This workshop is available to all CU-Boulder faculty and staff members.

VoiceThread allows people to navigate slides and leave comments 5 ways. In this introductory workshop, Marl Knowles will teach the five most important VoiceThread skills you need to explore this powerful tool and help get you up and running for incorporating it into your curriculum.

The Office of Strategic Relations invites applicants for the position of Fiscal Manager. This position has budget oversight, accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis responsibility for the divisions of University Communications and Alumni Association. Postion assists the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Relations and Executive Director of Alumni Association in the financial management of the departments and supervises an administrative staff of three. Marijuana symposium to be held Wednesday, Oct. 10

CUSG will host a marijuana symposium, a non-biased educational event, on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 7-9 p.m. in the UMC ballroom.  Harvard educated, Director of Wardenburg and CU-Boulder Assistant Vice Chancellor of Health and Wellness, Donald Misch will present on the health concerns and benefits of marijuana and act as a sounding board to share the facts and research about marijuana and THC.

10th Annual African Night: Taste of Africa

The African Students' Association is hosting the 10th Annual Taste of Africa on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the CU-Boulder Rec. Center. The event is free and open to all.
