CU Money Sense to host workshop on student identity theft Oct. 10

CU Money Sense will hold a student workshop with help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation on the prevention of identity theft in the college-age population on Oct. 10.

The workshop is open to all CU-Boulder students and will be held in University Memorial Center room 245 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Students planning to attend should email CUmoneysense@colorado.edu.

The Alcohol and Other Drugs Program offers a variety of services to educate students about the choices they make when using alcohol and other drugs to prevent substance abuse from becoming a problem.

Updated election forecasting model still points to Romney win, University of Colorado study says

An update to an election forecasting model announced by two University of Colorado professors in August continues to project that Mitt Romney will win the 2012 presidential election.

According to their updated analysis, Romney is projected to receive 330 of the total 538 Electoral College votes. President Barack Obama is expected to receive 208 votes -- down five votes from their initial prediction -- and short of the 270 needed to win.

Groundbreaking ceremony to kick off CU-Boulder Rec Center renovation

A groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. will kick off a $63 million project to renovate and expand the Student Recreation Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The ceremony, located on the pool patio, will include light refreshments and remarks by Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano and other campus and student leaders at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

CU Athletics & CU GLBTQ Resource Center brings champion wrestler to campus to speak on allyship in athletics

On Oct. 10, CU Athletics and the CU GLBTQ Resource Center will present Hudson Taylor, 3-time NCAA wrestling champion, to speak on GLBTQ allyship in athletics. The educational talk will be held in Eaton Humanities, room 1B50 at 7 p.m.
