Demand for CU-Boulder graduates continues to grow

Demand for University of Colorado Boulder graduates continues to grow, with the number of companies posting full-time jobs on the CU-Boulder campus jumping 28 percent in the 2011-12 school year, compared with pre-recession numbers in 2006.

The number of postings for part-time jobs also jumped, increasing 37 percent, while the number of internships for CU students increased by 50 percent.

Hitting the right note with Robert Cloutier

Tuning pianos is an art. Robert Cloutier is the artist who keeps the College of Music sounding spectacular. In the first two-thirds of his 34-year career, Cloutier, an expert piano technician specializing in concert preparation of Steinway grand pianos, earned a national reputation working with a who’s who list of musicians and Hollywood movie and recording studios.

Save money today! Free energy assessment and free Cosmos

The $CORE Program, coordinated by the CU Environmental Center, provides free energy assessments to student renters living in Boulder. The assessment takes around an hour and is scheduled at your convenience. Along with installing free energy-saving widgets such as CFLs, low-flow showerheads and weather stripping, a technician will sit down with you and discuss ways you can save money on energy bills.

Fall Career Fair brings over 150 companies to CU-Boulder campus

Don't miss the largest career fair of the fall semester. Companies like Shell, Lockheed Martin, Goldman Sachs, Brocade Communications, General Motors-IT and many more will be on the CU campus, Tuesday, Sept. 25 in the UMC (second floor) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This event is open and free to CU-Boulder students and alumni.

Learn a language!

Registration is now open for non-credit language classes! These classes are open to CU staff, faculty, graduate students, retirees and spouses. Classes begin Sept. 24 and meet twice a week for eight weeks. Tuition is $75.

The Changing Energy Mix

The Changing Energy Mix, a half-day conference exploring some of the dramatic changes taking place in the energy sector, with particular attention to the U.S. electric power sector will be held Oct. 23 from 2:30 - 6:45 p.m. in the University of Colorado Law School, Room 101. FERC Commissioner Tony Clark will will close the conference with a keynote address.

The event is co-sponsored by The Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment.
