Fox delivers CU enrollment report to regents

Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox told the University of Colorado Board of Regents today that early enrollment projections for CU-Boulder this fall show gains among some undergraduate new freshmen of color and overall an increase in international students, but a 1.7 percent decline in overall enrollment.

Mission to study past climate on Mars enters final phase before slated 2013 launch

A University of Colorado Boulder-led mission to explore and understand how the loss of atmospheric gas has changed the climate of Mars over the eons has been authorized by NASA to proceed to system delivery, spacecraft integration, testing and launch, which is slated for November 2013.

Boulder campus fares well in U.S. News' 2013 Best Colleges rankings

The campuses and undergraduate programs of the University of Colorado maintained high rankings among national and regional institutions in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges.

The 2013 report, released today, shows the University of Colorado Boulder ranked at No. 42 among top Public National Universities; the University of Colorado Denver’s downtown campus ranked 108th on the same list.

Annual Supplier Showcase returns Sept. 26

The Procurement Service Center (PSC) is pleased to host the Seventh Annual Supplier Showcase at the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom on Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. All CU faculty & staff are invited to attend. The Showcase provides unparalleled opportunities to meet with existing suppliers and to discover goods and services from potential new vendors. In additional to popular returning exhibitors, twenty new suppliers will participate! PSC staff will be available to answer questions about fiscal procedures, travel rules and Marketplace. Showcase sponsors Staples, Dell, The Parking Spot, and Xerox will be featured. In addition, representatives from Colorado Correctional Industries (CCI) and Christopherson Business Travel will be in attendance. Brown Bag Workshop on Maintaining Safety in the Classroom

The Office of Faculty Affairs, in cooperation with Office of the Dean of Students, the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services, and the CU Police Department, is offering a brown bag workshop on maintaining a safe classroom environment. Through presentations, scenarios, and discussion, the workshop will consider such questions as how to identify troubled students, how and when to talk with students who may be in need of help, and what resources are available to assist faculty members in responding to students of concern. The workshop is open to all full-time faculty members.

Facilities Planning Capital Construction Open House

Phil Simpson from the Office of Facilities Planning will be hosting an informational meeting about the Capital Construction process. Boulder police release sketch of suspect from assault that seriously injured CU student

Boulder police are asking for the campus community’s help with identifying a suspect from a Sept. 9 assault. The Police Department has released a sketch of the suspect and asks anyone who recognizes him or has information on the crime to call 303-441-3369.
